The Red Cross plans to help tens of thousands of people in the path of Hurricane Michael, while also continuing efforts in the Carolinas for families trying to recover from Hurricane Florence.

You can donate to the Red Cross online  here. You can also donate by calling 1-800-Red Cross or texting REDCROSS to 90999.

In severe weather events like hurricanes the Red Cross also asks for blood donations from those in areas not being affected by the storms. The Red Cross needs to collect more than 13,000 blood donations and 2,500 platelets every day to meet patient needs across the country, according to their website.

You can visit the Red Cross website to find more information about donating blood.
