UPDATE: Escaped inmate captured; gets 2 additional burglary charges

WEST LIBERTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The West Liberty Police Department reports that escaped state prisoner John Parrott has been apprehended

40-year-old Parrott is an inmate at Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex, who walked away from an outside work detail at a tree farm.

Kentucky State Police say Parrott broke into two homes over the course of two days during his escape. He now faces an additional two charges of burglary, an escape charge, and a charge for being a persistent felony offender.

Parrott was serving a 38-year sentence for several convictions out of Nelson and Jefferson counties.

He was eligible for parole in March.
