The Hazard Police Department had a close encounter caught on tape with a cow.

The police department got several reports on Monday of a bull standing in the middle of Town Mountain Road. When Officer Elvin Hendrix arrived, he spotted a Texas Longhorn.

"At first whenever it noticed me standing up there, it was galloping a little bit," explained Officer Hendrix. "Then it kind of stopped and lowered its head and charged at me."

Neither the officer or the Longhorn were injured.

Someone captured the video of the encounter. The Hazard Police Department posted the video on Facebook. The owner of the Longhorn reached out to the officers after seeing the video. He said the cow's name is Daisy and that she is pregnant.

The owner contacted WKYT on Tuesday morning and said that Daisy is still on the loose. He is warning people not to approach her. He is hopeful that they will be able to tranquilize the mother-to-be and get her back to the farm.

There's never a dull moment around here. Yes, that's a cow. Yes, it was chasing one of our officers. Thankfully, neither were injured. #UrbanCowboy
