IRVINE, Ky. (WKYT) - Estill County superintendent Jeff Saylor says one student is facing a terroristic threatening charge after the district received a weapon report from other students.
Saylor says he received a report Thursday evening that a student was carrying a weapon on a school bus.
A school resource officer and Irvine police went to the suspect's house, where they later determined the individual had a BB gun.
"I want to commend the students that reported this threat, because they stood up, for not only their safety, but also the safety of all of our students and staff," Saylor said.
The student was arrested, and the district plans to release additional details Friday.
