TRAFFIC ALERT: KY 3 down to one lane for sinkhole repair

Lawrence County Emergency Management officials have issued a traffic advisory after a sinkhole opened up on a stretch of Kentucky Highway 3 Tuesday.

Officials report the hole is located roughly one mile north of the Clifford community, south of Louisa. The hole is 6 feet by 8 feet wide and 4-5 feet in depth.

As of Tuesday night, KY 3 was down to one lane while the highway department makes repairs to the roadway. The northbound lane is expected to remain closed until sometime Wednesday, according to emergency management officials.
