US 27 reopens in Nicholasville after tanker rollover, fuel spill

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - UPDATE: U.S. 27 in Nicholasville reopened just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday after a tanker rollover caused a 100-gallon fuel spill, said Nicholasville police.



 

A tanker rollover crash in Nicholasville has caused a 100-gallon fuel spill.

The crash occurred near the intersection of U.S. 27 and North Main Street.

Nicholasville police say traffic is being diverted north onto Ky. 169 while southbound traffic is down to one lane. Southbound will eventually be shut down for cleanup. The spill is contained

The cleanup is expected to go into Wednesday night. Motorists are advised to use Harrodsburg Road as an alternate route.

The tanker can hold up to 11,000 gallons.
