FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT)- A task force put together by Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes will introduce legislation on Thursday regarding legalizing medical marijuana in Kentucky.

Grimes says the legislation is the result of the task force's discussions.

The task force includes members of Kentucky's medical community, law enforcement, and military veterans.

Medical marijuana is legal in 29 states and the District of Columbia.

A 2013 Kentucky Health Issues Poll found 78% of Kentuckians support legalizing medical marijuana.

The proposed legislation will be announced at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
