LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Security at the Lexington Center got a chance to use their new stand-up metal detectors on Sunday night.
About 8,500 fans packed Rupp Arena for the James Taylor concert. Officials used 14 detectors between two entrances for the event.
The big test will be Tuesday's Pearl Jam concert. Carl Hall, the director for arena management, expects 18,000 fans to attend the Pearl Jam concert.
The center will be using three entrances on Tuesday night and there will be several metal detectors at all three.
The Lexington Center bought a total of 30 metal detectors.
