Two major legislative bills could be stalling in Kentucky legislature

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Two major bills in the Kentucky legislature may be stalling before ever getting a vote.

Senate President Robert Stivers told the Lexington Herald-Leader Senate Bill 1 will not be heard by the Senate State and Local Government Committee on Wednesday. He also said he did not know when the bill would be heard.

On the House side, House Bill 166, which would legalize and regulate medical marijuana in Kentucky, is not listed on the agenda at Wednesday's House Judiciary Committee.

"It's time Kentuckians know where their representatives stand," Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes said. "Voters expect action from their legislators, not stall tactics and political games."

It is also unclear when that bill may be heard next.
