Software issue fixed, UK HealthCare no longer diverting patients

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A software issue caused the University of Kentucky to divert patients to other hospitals for hours on Monday.

This affected UK Chandler Hospital, Kentucky Children's Hospital and UK Good Samaritan Hospital.

UK HealthCare said the registration system began experiencing issues after a routine software update Monday.

The computer issue affected patients who arrived by EMS. The hospitals still accepted patients needing UK for trauma, pediatrics and burn care. Outpatient clinics still operated under normal procedures.
