UK, Lyft offering $20 discounts for Saturday's game
Several groups are working together to make sure fans can celebrate responsibly Saturday before and after a historic University of Kentucky football game.
The university, Keeneland, the Kentucky Distillers' Association and a coalition of Bluegrass supporters have raised $20,000 to prevent impaired driving on Saturday.
The groups partnered with Lyft, which contributed $10,000 to the cause. The ride-sharing service will offer $20 discounts between noon Saturday and 2 a.m. Sunday.
By entering the promo code “CATURDAY” in the Lyft app, it will provide riders two $10 discounts for rides to the game or a local bar and a safe ride back to their home or hotel.
There will also be a grassroots movement called Better Drinking Culture tailgating at Kroger Field Saturday.
In September, during a Kentucky football game,
was hit and killed by a UK student. That student is charged with DUI.
