Undercover sting takes down Clark County child sex suspect
Kentucky State Police say an undercover investigation has led to the arrest of Clark County man accused of having sexual conversations with children and having possession of child pornography.
Troopers in the Electronic Crime Branch say Herbert R. Rice, 38, of Clark County was arrested on Thursday.
They say he tried to have illicit conversations with an undercover trooper posing as a child on a chat platform. They say they began investigations on Rice after they were tipped off about the man having past conversations with children.
Troopers say upon arrest they also found child porn.
Rice was lodged in the Clark County Detention Center where he is charged with child porn and one count of promoting a minor under 16 in a sex performance.
