Vehicle crashes into Lexington business
Startling moments Thursday morning after a car crashed into Lexington business Suntime Pools.
"It sounded like it was coming right toward me," Burt Christensen said. "It ended up coming about 10 to 12 feet away from where I was at my desk. Fortunately, I guess, the wall between myself, my desk and where they ended up stopped the car."
Police and fire crews were at the scene on Palumbo Drive near New Circle Road.
Three people inside the vehicle were traveling toward New Circle Road when the car veered from the road, crashing into the building. The car struck a tree before going through the front entrance.
"I ran out the rear of the building and came around that side to see a car in the front. They were scared. They were shaken up," Christensen said.
The vehicle occupants were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
"This is a great reminder of being safe while you drive and just to be concentrating on the road and not what's happening inside the vehicle," District Major Jeff Johnson, of the Lexington Fire Department, said.
There are pool chemicals inside the business, but there is no threat to the public.
