It's a project that's been in the works for years. The Summit at Fritz Farm is now open.

"As an organization, we've been working on this site for roughly eight years. So the fact that we are roughly three weeks out from our first opening is exciting," said Lindsay Bayer-Shipp with Bayer Properties.

The Summit, located at the corner of Nicholasville Road and Man o' War Boulevard, will operate under a rolling open, which means not every business opened April 27.

"Part of our marketing strategy is that we really want the city of Lexington and the surrounding region to be excited and curious," Bayer-Shipp said. "We want people showing up and getting excited, so we can show the red carpet of who these tenants are."

Arhaus Furniture and Honeywood by Ouita Michael were among the establishments opening April 27. J. Alexander's restaurant is already open for business. The remaining tenants will open up over the next six months, which developers say is typical for a project of this size. Officials with Pottery Barn tell us they will open on May 11.

"We do ask that the Lexington community, and the state for that matter, that they be patient and they see it as exciting that each time they come to the project that they see we will have new venues for the to shop dine and experience."
