As Kentucky joins the rest of the country in going to the polls Tuesday, WKYT was selected to participate in Facebook’s #50States election day initiative.

Throughout the day, WKYT and other media which select outlets across all 50 states will be streaming on Facebook Live as Americans head to the polls.

“We have a lot to keep our eyes on in Kentucky beyond the presidential race,” said WKYT political editor Bill Bryant about Tuesday’s election which includes Sen. Rand Paul’s battle against Lexington Mayor Jim Gray. “Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will be watching Senate trends nationwide to see if he retains his powerful position. Democrats are in a battle to keep control of the state house of representatives which is the only remaining legislative chamber in the South the party controls.”

Live coverage on Facebook from WKYT and the #50States participants will give voters real-time access as the voting process gets underway in Kentucky and across the U.S.

Follow the hashtag #50states for exclusive views from the field and a live look at how the elections are playing out.
