West Nile virus death reported in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WKYT/WAVE) – The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness is reporting that a Louisville resident has died from the West Nile virus.

According to television station WAVE, officials with the department had not said where in Louisville the victim lived.

Two people have been diagnosed with West Nile virus in Louisville this year.

In 2018, four cases of West Nile virus were confirmed, but none were fatal.

One death was reported back in 2016.
