Woman charged with DUI after hitting scooter rider

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man was hurt early Saturday morning after being hit by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter, according to Lexington police.

It happened around 2:30 on South Limestone at Virginia Avenue.

Police say the woman driving the vehicle was arrested and charged with DUI.

Officers say the man riding the scooter has injuries that are not life-threatening.

Electric scooters became available to rent in Lexington on Tuesday.
