Georgetown police have charged a woman with manslaughter in a deadly Tuesday morning stabbing.

Coroner John Goble says the person killed was Mathew A. Turner, 36, of Georgetown.

Police responded to the Mill Townhouse Complex on Iron Loop Path behind Lowe's around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday when a woman reported hearing a thud outside her window and found Turner on the ground.

Police say they found Turner dead on the sidewalk when they arrived. He had a stab wound to the neck. The coroner's office pronounced Turner dead at 1:12 a.m.

Goble said Turner was a Toyota plant employee.

Georgetown police have charged Cassandra Carson of Lawrenceburg, Indiana with first-degree manslaughter in the death of Turner. Police also say Carson was in violation of an emergency protective order.

“We talked to several witnesses in the area in the in the area that overheard some type of verbal argument take place either inside the apartment or in front of the apartment," Assistant Police Chief Robert Swanigan said.
