LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Yoder, the 17-year-old Lexington police horse, is back at its barn after suffering an injury while the Mounted Unit was working the city's Christmas parade.

The police department released a photo of Yoder at its stable just two days after the injury occurred. Yoder accidentally got stuck in an open hole near East 6th Street after its shoe was wedged inside a cast iron pipe. The horse was taken to Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital, where x-rays revealed his leg was not broken.

Police said Yoder is expected back to work in weeks.

Yoder's now next to his Christmas stocking, which says "Yo Yo Yo" on it.
