PHOENIX (WKYT) - Devin Booker is 21 years-old and on the brink of becoming of the highest-paid player in Phoenix Suns history.

Booker and the Suns are reportedly close to finalizing a deal that will pay the former Kentucky guard $158 million over five years. Now that the July 6 free agent moratorium has passed, a deal could be announced very soon.

If the deal is signed, Booker would make around $27 million in the first year of the extension, topping out just under $36 million in the fifth and final year of the deal. Booker expressed an interest in signing a max deal back in October in hopes of getting it done during the summer.

Booker averaged career-highs in points (24.9), rebounds (4.5) and assists (4.7) last season and won the 3-point shooting contest during the NBA All-Star weekend.
