LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - UK wide receiver David Bouvier has been named a candidate for the Burlsworth Trophy, given annually by the Springdale (AZ) Rotary Club.
Bouvier is one of 69 walk-on or former walk-on players nominated for the award.
The award is presented in honor of Brandon Burlsworth, a former walk-on at Arkansas, who became an all-American offensive lineman. The Burlsworth Trophy is given to the most outstanding college player who began his career as a walk-on at an FBS school without financial aid of any kind.
Bouvier played at Lexington Catholic and started at UK as a walk-on in 2014, before landing a scholarship prior to the start of this season.
