MOREHEAD, Ky. - Morehead State sophomore pitcher Dalton Stambaugh has been awarded Ohio Valley Conference co-Pitcher of the Week.
Stambaugh, a native of Fredericktown, Ohio, put together a masterful outing in his 2018 debut.
He tossed seven innings against Ball State on Saturday, struck out a career-high eight batters, and only scattered four hits while tossing a shutout. The Cardinals had runners in scoring position in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, but Stambaugh struck out the final out each time.
The Eagles finished 2-2 in the Swig and Swine Classic in Mount Pleasant, S.C., and will continue the year on Tuesday at Western Carolina at 2 p.m. ET.
