EJ Montgomery's finesse game complements UK's bangers

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Guys like Anthony Davis don't come along often, but John Calipari believes he could have the closest player to the 2012 consensus player of the year in EJ Montgomery.

Coming out of high school, EJ Montgomery was Florida's player of the year, but when he played for UK in the Bahamas, an injury kept the five-star recruit off the floor for the final three games.

"It was disappointing to go out there and watch. It makes me want to get out there but I am back now," said Montgomery.

Montgomery joins the Cats as one of the top recruits in the nation and after averaging 25 points per game his senior year, he hopes to find his place amongst a talented UK frontcourt.

"I learn from those guys little things like to put my head up and focus on the next play and little things like that help us a lot," said Montgomery.
