WASHINGTON (WKYT) - Washington Wizards all-star guard John Wall has suffered a major injury setback after slipping and falling at his home.

The team released a statement saying he ruptured his left Achilles tendon following the initial Jan. 8 surgery.

Wall was diagnosed when a team doctor performed a procedure to clean out an infection.

The Wizards say Wall will need approximately 12 months to recover before returning to full basketball activities.
