LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- For the first time since 1988, Kentucky volleyball completed a perfect SEC season with a sweep over Auburn.
The Wildcats conclude the regular season with a 24-4 record and an 18-0 mark in SEC play. Kentucky will learn its place in the NCAA Tournament field Sunday night.
"Again, I've said it before, it's a special group to be a part of," head coach Craig Skinner said. "Just the effort, passion, energy, selflessness of a group to try and go undefeated in the league is almost impossible."
The senior class of Merideth Jewell, Brooke Morgan, Anna Nyberg and McKenzie Watson started Saturday's match and all played important roles in the sweep. Jewell had two kills, Morgan racked up eight kills, Nyberg had a kill, while Watson earned a pair of digs.
