LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - Louisville junior Brendan McKay has been tabbed college baseball’s Player of the Year by Baseball America.
The pitcher/first baseman is 9-3 on the mound, with a 2.31 ERA, 131 strikeouts in 97.1 innings, and is hitting .357 with 17 home runs.
McKay helped the Cardinals win the ACC regular season title and is a big reason Louisville is a No. 7 seed nationally.
The Beaver Falls, Pa. native is a two-time winner of the John Olerud Award, given annually to the nation’s best college combo pitcher-position player.
