AUBURN, Ala. (WKYT) - The Wildcats are the underdogs as Kentucky travels to Auburn to take on the Tigers.
No. 14 Auburn (13-3, 2-1 SEC) has opened a 4.5-point favorite as the home side against No. 12 Kentucky (13-3, 3-1 SEC).
Both sides are averaging more than 80 points per game, and the over/under for the game is calling for a decent amount of scoring with the total at 146.5.
The Tigers have proven to be a strong home side this season, going 9-0 at Auburn Arena. Kentucky comes in with a 3-3 record outside Rupp Arena, but the Wildcats won convincingly on the road earlier this week with a 20-point victory against Georgia.
Kentucky's weakness in many games has been three-point shooting, and Auburn will be sure to take a large number of perimeter shots. Auburn has taken 211 more three-pointers than Kentucky so far this season.
Auburn is led in scoring by guards Bryce Brown and Jared Harper, who are both averaging more than 15 points per game. Keldon Johnson leads Kentucky in scoring with just shy of 15 points per game while Ashton Hagans has shined on the defensive end of the court averaging more than two steals a game.
Both teams will be looking to avoid a second loss early in the SEC with Tennessee, South Carolina and LSU all undefeated early in conference play.
Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. on ESPN.
