Pope hired at BYU

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - BYU has named Make Pope, the former Kentucky player, as its new men’s basketball head coach.

Pope is a former Cougars assistant coach and the head coach at Utah Valley, where he compiled a record of 77-55 and made three straight trips to the CBI Tournament.

Pope played on UK’s 1996 national championship team, after transferring from Washington. He spent nine seasons in the NBA and overseas.
