HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (WKYT) - A report says former Kentucky and Louisville men's basketball coach Rick Pitino is recovering from emergency eye surgery.
Marty McGee with the Daily Racing Form reported Pitino "experienced temporary blindness" while attending horse races at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida.
The outpatient surgery was that same afternoon (Wed.) as the coach was here yesterday (Thurs.) at Gulfstream wearing dark glasses. Going to be fine.— Marty McGee (@DRFMcGee) February 16, 2018
Pitino later texted Tim Sullivan with the Courier-Journal in Louisville and told him he is recovering from surgery.
