LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- Kentucky freshman Rhyne Howard scored 25 points against No. 5 Louisville and 19 points against Rhode Island and has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week for the third time this season.
The Cleveland, Tennessee native is the fourth player in program history to win three or more conference freshman of the week honors, joining Victoria Dunlap, A’dia Mathies and Bria Goss. All four players have come in the Matthew Mitchell era.
Howard is the first UK freshman to score at least 10 points in each of her first ten games. She leads the Cats in scoring at 18.9 points per game and rebounding with 7.2 per game.
Kentucky hosts Middle Tennessee on December 15 at 1pm.
