BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WKYT) - Beginning this fall, the SEC will use a visible television timeout clock on the field at all 14 on-campus stadiums. The on-field display will allow fans, game officials and teams to view the remaining time during each TV commercial stoppage.
The TV timeout clock will be operated by the timeout coordinator, or "red hat." The time displayed will be the official time remaining in a timeout.
The clock will not be used during neutral site games involving non-conference opponents.
