LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky running back Benny Snell, Jr. is a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award, it was announced Wednesday. The Doak Walker Award is presented annually to the nation’s top running back.
Snell, Jr. has rushed for 1,089 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. His 108.9 yards rushing per game ranks second in the SEC and 15th nationally. Snell, Jr. is second in the SEC in all-purpose yards with 119.4 yards per game.
The Westerville, Ohio native is second in UK history with 3,513 yards rushing and is the all-time leader with 42 touchdowns.
