Still, Sanderford among Women's Hall of Fame finalists

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) Former Kentucky star Valerie Still and former WKU coaching legend Paul Sanderford among the 12 finalists for the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame announced Thursday.

Still, whol played from 1979-83, is the all-time leading scorer at UK (men or women) with 2,763 points and rebounds with 1,525. Still also became the first female letter winner in any UK sport to have her jersey retired.

Still led UK to its first and only SEC tournament championship in 1983.

Paul Sanderford led Western Kentucky to three Final Four appearances and 12 NCAA Tournament berths.

Sanderford finished his career with more than 600 career wins and was a 3-time Seun Belt Conference Coach of the Year in 1982-83, 1985-86, and 1990-91.

The Hall of Fame will release its official 2019 class on Feb. 4. The class will be inducted June 8.
