LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- Tyler Herro torched No. 14 Auburn with a 20-point performance and has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week for the second time this season.
Kentucky has now won SEC Freshman of the Week honors in five of the last six weeks.
Herro earned this week’s award after averaging a team-best 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in road wins at Georgia and at No. 14 Auburn, UK’s first road victory at an Associated Press top-15 team in the SEC since March 1, 2006.
In Saturday's win over Auburn, Herro scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half and he made all five of his free-throw attempts.
No. 8 Kentucky hosts No. 22 Mississippi State on Tuesday night and hosts No. 9 Kansas on Saturday night for a 6pm tip-off.
