UK's Williams finalist for NCAA soccer Player of the Year

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - UK junior forward JJ Williams is a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, which is awarded annually to the NCAA Division 1 soccer Player of the Year.

Williams is one of 15 players on the final list.

The Montgomery, Ala. native ranks third nationally with 18 goals, second in game-winning goals (9), is third with 44 points and 28th in assists (8). He was named the C-USA Player of the Year and the Offensive MVP in 2018.

Williams and the Wildcats will host Maryland in an Elite Eight matchup this Friday at 6 p.m.
