CLARK COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The Clark County coroner says one person was killed in an accident on US 60 Wednesday afternoon.

Crews were sent to the scene near Eastern Kentucky Power just after 5 p.m.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident. One driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County coroner has identified that man as James Church, 48, from Dayton, Ohio.

The coroner says Church just moved to Kentucky and was on his way home from his first day of work when the crash occurred.

Kentucky State Police say a pickup truck and a sedan collided head on.

"There was a witness that stated that the truck lost control for some reason," said Trooper Kenny Sandusky, Kentucky State Police.

Officials say Church was driving the truck. There was one person in each vehicle. The driver of the sedan was taken to UK Hospital. Police have not disclosed the driver's injuries or condition.

Investigators say weather may have played a role in the wreck.
