I-75 in Madison County back open after crash causes standstill

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Interstate 75 is back open after a crash that left a man with multiple injuries.

The crash occurred at 6:48 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 near 95 mile-marker in Richmond.

According to Madison County Sheriff Mike Coyle, Justin Vanhook, 21 years old of Hustonville, was traveling north on I-75 driving a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. The sheriff says Vanhook changed lanes and collided with a 2008 Kawasaki 900 Vulcan motorcycle being operated by Bryan Colegrove, 49 years old of Berea.

Colegrove was transported to UK Hospital with multiple injuries.

The northbound lanes of I-75 became a parking lot for about an hour. Police got the crash cleared up around 8:00 a.m. The northbound lanes reopened shortly after that.
