Indiana man arrested after traveling to meet 13-year-old Berea girl

BEREA, Ky. (WKYT) - An Indiana man has been arrested after police say he traveled to Kentucky to meet a 13-year-old girl.

Officers were called to Foley Middle School where school officials say a man had showed up and told them he was there to meet a girl who he claimed was his girlfriend.

Brandon Johnson, 19, of Fort Wayne Indiana, told police he had traveled to Kentucky on a Greyhound bus to meet the 13-year-old girl.

Johnson was taken to the Berea Police Department where he told police he had exchanged inappropriate photos and videos with the victim. Police say he had approximately 100 photos and 10 videos on his cell phone.

Johnson was arrested and charged with 50 counts each of use of a minor in a sexual performance, prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor and possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. He's also charged with distribution of obscene matter to minors.
