GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The Grayson County Sheriff's Office says Cheyenne Phillips and her boyfriend Dalton Hayes were spotted in South Carolina.

The two were driving a red 2006 Toyota Tacoma with a Kentucky farm tag.

Police say Phillips, 13, and Hayes, 18, were spotted on Monday at a Walmart in Manning, South Carolina.

Police say the teens made two purchases with stolen checks in the Walmart. They bought a pack of mints and wrote over the amount to get approximately $20 cash back in each transaction.

Investigators say a gun was in the truck when the teenagers stole it.

Phillips has been missing since Jan. 3, according to WLKY in Louisville.

Sheriff Norman Chaffins said the couple have evaded deputies, and now they're accused of stealing two cars. He said the couple stole a car and crashed it, and then ran from police and stole another car.

"We do not want that situation to become worse than it already is," said Sheriff Chaffins. "Our biggest fear is they steal another vehicle, a law enforcement agency will get into a pursuit of that vehicle and obviously the outcome is usually not good."

Authorities said the two did not have any cash, so they are worried about what they might do for money.

If you see the couple, you're asked to call 911.
