Two arrested after Whitley Co. shooting

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - State police arrested two men in an early morning shooting.

At approximately 1:16 AM on Wednesday , the Kentucky State Police Post in London was notified of a shooting that had taken place on Little Spruce Creek Road in Whitley County.

Upon arrival, troopers found 58-year old David C. McNeil, of Corbin, with gunshot wounds to both feet.

Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument with two men, who came to his home. According to state police, 39-year old Michael Skidmore fired multiple rounds from a handgun, hitting McNeil twice.

Police say Skidmore and 41-year old Mark Paul ran off from the home. They were later located and charged with 1st degree assault and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.

McNeil was transported from the scene to the Baptist Regional Medical Center and later flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, where he is being treated for his injuries.
