SCOTT/FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Authorities are investigating an accident that happened on I-64W, near the Fayette and Scott County line.
Shortly before noon on Saturday, both Fayette and Scott County officials responded to a two-vehicle crash that involved a passenger vehicle and a tractor trailer.
Investigators say the passenger vehicle swerved into the path of the tractor tailor, causing the two vehicles to collide. They say the passenger vehicle was push into the median and the tractor trailer became engulfed in flames.
Police say only one person was in each vehicle at the time of the crash. Their names have not been released, but police say they were both taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Both lanes of I-64W has reopened.
Officials say they are still investigating the cause of the crash.
