Local woman finds an overnight solution to lingering odors in her new home

Sponsored - When Grace*, 36, purchased a home from a heavy cigarette smoker, she was worried that the smoke smell would linger, and her children would suffer from major allergy attacks or worse, second-hand smoke.

“I spent hours researching ways to get rid of the smell, but knew they were all going to be bandaid solutions like painting the walls or opening the windows. This smell was deeper than just the surface, it was in the walls. Just awful!” Grace told us.

Only three days before moving day, Grace came across the perfect solution - an active air purifier for her HVAC system.

It was her local HVAC company, GreenBox Heating & Air, who recommended and later installed her active air purifier to help eliminate the smell. To her surprise, the smoke smell was gone within 24 hours. She couldn’t believe it! The dreaded moving day had turned into an overnight miracle.

“When I walked into my home the next day, I thought it was a prank! I thought, there is NO way this actually worked. And sure enough, it did.” Grace said.

An active air purifier works by breaking down the smoke particles (and other odors in the air) which eliminates the smell. This process is much faster than other methods such as painting the entire house or replacing air filters. When UVC light hits the catalyst, photohydroionization or “PHI”, helps to reduce the amount of bacteria and biological growth in the air, which can be beneficial for those with allergies or asthma. Best of all, it continues to work for you each day, over several years.
