Chicago Perspectives star Anthony Davis has given a verbal commitment to play his college basketball for head coach John Calipari, and the University of Kentucky. Davis is considered one of the top players in the Class of 2011.
Davis, a 6'10" power forward, came out of seemingly nowhere to become the hottest prospect in the United States this summer. Davis, who has undergone a huge growth spurt over the course of the past two years, has been dominant at times while matched up against other elite national prospects.
Anthony Davis Sr. tells Chicagohoops.com, "I am glad the process is finally over. It was a bit overwelming at times, but Kentucky was the right fit for Anthony athletically, academically and socially."
Davis joins another monster group of recruits for Calipari in 2011, that also includes Michael Gilchrist and Marquis Teague, giving Kentucky three of the top players in America.
