Suspect in Lexington apartment complex shooting appears in court
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Nathaniel Danzy is facing charges in the murder of Zemondric Hall.
At the end of May, shots rang out at the Bridle Creek Apartment Complex, leading one employee to call police.

When police arrived, they say they saw Hall suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in his car. He died on the scene.
Police said today that Danzy and Hall were roommates and that tenants saw the altercation between the two of them happen.
“One of these witnesses identified that same person as someone that was shooting at the victim and actually witnessed the shooting occurring,” shared Lexington Police detective.
The detective shared that video footage and witness accounts they collected described a man in a black hoodie speeding away in a black Nissan Altima, seconds after the shots fired call was made.
Police claim this car was registered to Danzy, but when they pulled that vehicle over later, Danzy’s child and the mother of his child were inside. They claimed that they didn’t know where he was.
Cell phone records showed Danzy at the Bridle Creek Complex at the time of the shooting, and at the home of the mother of his child, in the same outfit that witnesses said the shooting suspect was wearing, according to testimony.
The detective shared that Danzy later confessed to shooting Hall. Danzy’s attorney, Daniel Whitley, calls this self defense, questioning the weapons in Hall’s car.
“The two weapons that were found in the car, there was an AR-15 with no buffer, no stock on it. And then there was a glock handgun as well.”
A judge sent the matter to the grand jury, and refused to change Danzy’s bond.
