Popular social media star arrested near college bar over the weekend, police say

COLLEGE STATION, Texas. (KBTX/Gray News) - A popular social media star was arrested in Texas near a college bar over the weekend, according to authorities.

Benjamin Beard, 34, known as BenDaDonnn online, was charged Sunday with evading arrest.

Another man, 29-year-old Kenny Carter, was charged with interference with public duties.

Police said they were attempting to clear people from the roadway in front of a bar when a group refused to listen to the officers.

As the incident became physical, police said one of their officers was shoved to the ground by Carter, who identified himself as Beard’s security guard.

Police said an officer used a taser on Beard, who was attempting to get away.

Police said as officers moved the two to a staging area to wait to be taken to jail, a large “entourage” crowded around them before being told several times to move back.

Earlier that evening, Beard appeared on Texas A&M football’s official X account, showing him on the sidelines during the game near the rest of the team.

Another X account showed Beard attempting to enter the locker room during halftime with cameras rolling, only to be kicked out by coach Elko.

Beard is better known on social media platforms as a live streamer and social media influencer who often collaborates with other well-known entertainers, including Drake, and athletes on comedy skits, social media content and music.

He has a combined social media following of over 3.7 million followers across his platforms.
