Business owner arrested in connection with illegal gambling and drug case

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - An owner of several businesses is facing charges in connection with illegal gambling and drug trafficking, according to the Frankfort Police Department.

Police said they arrested Prakash Patel after finding $55,461.77 in illegal gambling proceeds, eight gambling machines, 11,040 7-Hydroxymitragynine pills and 2,412 Pseudoindoxyl pills.

Patel is facing multiple charges, police say:

1. Promoting gambling (first degree)
2. Permitting gambling
3. Trafficking in controlled substance (first degree)
