LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A suspect has been arrested in connection with a Friday shooting in Lexington.

Police say detectives determined Huff’s identity through evidence at the scene and with help from the Nicholasville Police Department and Real Time Intelligence Center.

Huff is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

The shooting prompted a police standoff in the 3000 block of Pimlico Parkway.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at 2:57 p.m. When they arrived, officers located a female victim suffering from a reported life-threatening gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

About an hour after officers first arrived, heavily armed Lexington police officers and Fayette County sheriff’s deputies entered the home with guns drawn.

Officers could be heard giving orders on a loudspeaker before flying a drone into the house. Officers entered shortly after.

A father who lives a few doors down from the home said he was out for a walk with his wife and son when the situation unfolded.

“There were some cop cars blocking the streets and they have sheriffs with guns and rifles and so we immediately turned around because we had like I said my son with us,” David Mitchell said.

He said the neighborhood is normally quiet and safe.

“I mean it’s not great, right? It doesn’t make you feel safe. I’ve been in the home I bought since 2020, and this has been a really quiet neighborhood, lot of families. This is the first time I’ve ever seen anything like this,” Mitchell said.
