Republican wins Rocky Adkins' former House seat

Republican Richard White won the open seat for House District 99. Rocky Adkins formerly held it.
Adkins, a Democrat, held the district since the 1980s. He is now serving as senior advisor to Governor Andy Beshear, D-Kentucky.
House District 99 represents voters in Rowan, Elliott, and Lewis counties.
Republican Richard White defeated Democrat Bill Redwine in the special election.
Campbell County voters chose Democrat Rachel Roberts to represent them.
She won the special election against Republican Mary Jo Wedding. The seat was open after Dennis Keen's departure.
Keene is now serving as commissioner of the Department for Local Government.
