A London, Kentucky tattoo artist is spreading his love of ink to children in the hospital.

The tattoos are temporary, but to Brad Mallory, the impact is permanent.

Mallory and his crew of tattoo artists went Kentucky Children's Hospital to lift patients' spirits.

"It gives them a little ray of sunshine while they are here in the hospital," Mallory said.

Joyce Vanover's daughter, Sarah, was admitted to the hospital on Friday. Joyce said she thinks the tattoo is a fun distraction.

"It gets their mind off their sickness," she said.

Like most tattoos, Sarah's has special meaning behind it. She said it reminds her of her late father, who worked in the equine industry.

"Everytime she sees a horse she thinks about her dad," Joyce said.

Mallory and his tattoo crew are also looking for children who will be in the hospital long-term, so they can come back with gifts during the holiday season.
