On Tuesday afternoon, 20-year old Dylan Capps and 19-year old Keegan Newton answered to charges in Fayette District Court.

Police charged both men in connection with the shooting death of 19-year old Justin Lee Jenkins of Louisville. Jenkins died on Monday after being shot on North Broadway. Gunfire also wounded another man who is 20-years-old.

According to Lexington Police, Capps shot both men. Capps pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in court on Tuesday.

Keegan pleaded not guilty to wanton endangerment. Officer say he fired shots at Capps's vehicle as Capps left the scene.

Keegan asked the judge for a bond reduction during the hearing on Tuesday. Keegan became emotional when the judge denied that request.

Lexington Police have arrested Capps before. In February 2016, he faced a robbery charge that was amended to assault when Capps entered an Alford plea. The judge sentenced him to 30 days in jail in that case.
